"We've lost Dale Earnhardt." On February 18, 2001 NASCAR president Mike Helton had to make the toughest announcement of his career. Racing legend Dale Earnhardt had died of injuries suffered in a crash on the final lap of the Daytona 500. The world of racing would mourn the loss of the man who became known as "The Intimidator" for his agressive and fearless style of racing. He would be remembered not only a legendary racing career, but a son who has carried on the Earnhardt racing tradition.
